Santa Barbara-based writer, illustrator, and multimedia artist.

Molly is the illustrator & author of the children's books, "Izzy's Ukulele Adventure", "All the Things I Can Do!" and "Under the Sneep Tree: The Wamboozling of a Village". She has been teaching illustration, cartooning, and animation workshops to elementary schools since 2004 and has over six years of professional experience working as an illustrator and designer.

Molly is a talented illustrator and has overcome a lot in her childhood. She took WEV’s SET course and has been a great advocate for us while growing her business of publishing adorable children’s books and e-books! Her work can best be described as whimsical. VIEW MOLLY'S WEBSITE >

What inspires you to go to work, school or volunteer each day?

Knowing how far I've come to achieve my dream and how much my work positively affects my community.

A Cartoonist.

What is your favorite sport or exercise routine?

Walking to the pier.

What was your proudest moment?

Speaking in front of an audience of 300 people telling my childhood story of overcoming the misfortunate situation of having mentally ill and abusive parents.

What would others be surprised to learn about you?

I was homeless for a short period of time before college.

Who or what is your inspiration?

Those who have crossed my path and shown me their resilience & inner strength despite struggle.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment (s)?

Publishing three children's books, being a part of a successful ePub company, touring the west and east coast with my work, having a healthy mind and body.

What has been your biggest challenge (in life or as a parent)?

Overcoming the trauma of my childhood.

What is your wildest dream (something you hope to do one day)?

Hike the Himalayas.

What motivated you to start your business?

I have an important message to share with the world.

What is the hardest part about owning your own business?

Making enough time for relaxation and play.

What is the best advice you could give someone on starting their own business?

Please seriously consider taking the WEV Self Employment Training Course.

What is something you would like to share

Running your own business comes with many ups and downs, it is very important to not overly identify with either. Have a good base before leaping (education + six months savings of rent or a job)..

Why did you go into education?

To inspire youth to embrace their imaginations and realize their natural gifts.

What is it that motivates you most each day working with students?

Seeing those "AHA" moments and getting positive feedback from parents about how much they love my class!

What message is important to you to pass on to your students?

Don't quit. There's no such thing as a "mistake".

What is something you would like to share?

Creating stories and teaching youth is my passion. I wasn't supported to follow my dreams growing up. Having gone through the WEV Self Employment Training Program, my business has tripled and my vision is clearer than ever.
