I know it is easier to buy pre-made batter but homemade sugar cookies are the best! The red hots on these cookies really taste amazing.

• 2/3c Butter
• 3/4c Sugar
• 1 tsp Vanilla
• 1 Egg
• 4 Tsp Milk or Cream
• 2c Flour
• 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
• 1/4 tsp Salt
• Red Hots & Sprinkles for decorating

--Icing--

• 2 1/3c Powdered Sugar
• 1/8 tsp Salt
• 1/4 tsp Vanilla
• 1/3 stick soft Butter
• 1/8-1/4c Milk (for spreadable consistency)
  
• (You can do any icing if you have another favorite - I sometimes put in a little lemon juice for flavor.)

Preparation

• Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla.
• Add egg and beat until fluffy.
• Stir in milk.
• Blend in flour, salt and baking powder.
• Divide dough in half and put in fridge for 1 hour.
• Roll out to 1/8 inch and cut out with cookie cutters.
• Bake at 375 degrees on greased cookie sheet for 6-8 min until light golden brown.
• Cool and frost with icing.
• If doing Valentine cookies, be sure to top with red hots - - it is a delicious combo.
